Welcome to KCDN

This is KCDN, an Environmental Management, Economic Empowerment and Poverty Eradication Civil Society.

We welcome you to our site. Kindly feel free to share with us your thoughts. Ideas that add value will be appreciated. Ideas that want to make us improve our physical environment will be welcome. And more so, ideas that redirect us from the lost cause will be of immense value.

It is us who will improve the lot of our Environment, our Economy and make Kenya a Clean Country, where People join hands to work for our own Economic Emancipation and where Municipal Solid Waste Management is looked at as a resource, not as waste.

We need to set the standards in this region of the World and become the referral point in how a people can join hands and work for their own Economic Liberation, where waste can be used as raw material and become a source of employment for our people.

Our collective actions will surely make a difference. This is why in partnership with our Key Strategic Partners- The Public Service Transformation Department, the National Environment Management Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, other key Ministries, the Local Authorities in Kenya, the Provincial Administration, A Better World, Akiba Uhaki Foundation and other Partners, we are moving deliberately in sensitizing and mobilizing Kenyans to work towards A Clean Kenya where waste is separated at source.

And this is why we are inviting Kenyans to join with us in The Clean Kenya Campaign and be a Member of Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd

Welcome.

Twin Celebrations for The Clean Kenya Campaign today

Dear Friends,
Today we are celebrating two issues that are close to our hearts.
1; Gor Mahia Football Club are being crowned the KPL 2013 League Champions and we are elated at The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC. We have had our own small history with Gor Mahia Players and as such, I did promise that we will give them Kshs 50,000.00 if they win the League. I will present our contribution to The Gor Mahia Team Captain on Tuesday the 5th Nov and as I write, I am happy that the following Friends of TCKC have made the following contributions;

  1. Dr. Kori Singoei- Kshs 2,000.00
  2. Ms Elizabeth Ouda- Kshs 1,000.00
  3. Rev Sam Oketch- Kshs 1,000.00
  4. Mr. Steven Ireri- Kshs 2,000.00
  5. Mr. Odhiambo T Oketch- Kshs 2,000.00

From L-T; Deputy Coach John Bobby Ogolla, Oto, Team Manager Tom Ogweno, Coach Logarusic and Otieno Sungu when we went to present The Gor Mahia Team with Certificates of Appreciations in Septemeber 2012
Many Friends have talked with me and pledged their support which I will announce as soon as I receive the same. I will present what I will have with me on Tuesday the 5th November 2013 and we shall have done our bit as well for the players.
2; TCKC has rolled out our Economic Empowerment, Revival and Transformation Initiative from our Buru Buru office. I am happy with the Team that we have assembled and tomorrow, we will unveil this Team.
Our agenda is real simple. We can solve most of our economic problems by ourselves if only we can join hands and work as a Team. We are happy with the Partners who have joined us in this great Initiative and I must thank The Poverty Eradication Commission for their advice and support so far.
We identified the cost of living and the cost of finance as the two major issues Kenyans face across during our Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaigns and we have decided to do something about it.
This Initiative is open to all Kenyans- youths, women, business people and those in employment.
We will be releasing our Brochures by Friday 9th Nov for distributions to all our Members across the Country.
We are reaching out to more Institutions for support and Partnership.

Rolling Table Banking and Investment Club out

Dear Members,
When we identified the cost of living and the cost of finance as the twin issues that affect many Kenyans, I was moved and I discussed this with the leadership of The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC. I was invited on Radio and I gave our presentation which captured the attention of many people.
Many people across Kenya called me and many decided to join hands with me. We at TCKC then decided to form Kimisho Community Development Network as a vehicle through which we would mobilize willing members towards our Economic Empowerment Programme as we work towards forming a Sacco Society.
I was impressed when the initial membership sent their Registration Fee through my phone. We had Kimisho Registered in May and duly opened an account for the same at KCB Kipande House Branch. I then instructed all our Members to stop sending their Registration Fee through my Phone and instead, to send the same through our Bank Accounts which I made public.
I am happy many did that, and as I write, we have placed a caveat on the same account because we want to now isolate the Sacco Shares and the Investment Savings and place them in the right accounts. Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd has duly also been Registered and a Management Committee elected to run her affairs. We have passed all the necessary documents to the District Co-operative Officer- Embakasi and we are now awaiting the opening of the Sacco Bank Account which we will duly inform all our Members. Kimisho Savings Society Ltd is open to all our Members who want to save, wait for six months and borrow three times what they have saved. We will be strict with this since we want to comply with the Sacco Regulations to the letter.
L-R; John Bobby Ogolla, Oto, Team Manager, Coach, Otieno Sungu and others when we presented the Gor Players with Certificates of Appreciation for having joined with The Clean Kenya Campaign during the World Environment Day in 2012
Secondly, we had promised to present Kshs 50,000.00 to the Gor Mahia Players if they win the 2013 KPL League. They have done so, and now, I am inviting willing Friends and Members to help us raise this ammount for onward transmission to the Gor Mahia Players. I want to sincerely thank the following Friends for indicating their support;
  1. Mr. Odhiambo T Oketch- Kshs 2,000.00
  2. Dr Korir Singoei- Kshs 2,000.00
  3. Ms Elizabeth Ouda- Kshs 1,000.00
  4. Rev Samuel Oketch,
  5. Hon John Omondi Ogutu,
  6. Ms Millicent Ogwel
  7. Mr. Ricky Omondi
I am looking forward to us presenting this money to the Gor Mahia Players on or around 9th November. I will talk with the Team Captain to enable us agree on the date.
At the same time, we have opened offices for The Clean Kenya Campaign- TCKC at Buru Buru Business Complex, and from the 1st of November 2013, we will be rolling out our Table Banking Initiative and the Investment Club.
We are happy with the many Members who have been calling me seeking directions and the way forward. I am also happy with the Members who have started Registering for our Table Banking Initiative and the Investment Club.
It will never be easy, and I want to confirm to all our Members that we at The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC are committed to our ideals. We talked about our Economic Empowerment, Revival and Transformation and this is exactly what we are delivering to our Members.
As a consequence, all Sacco matters will be handled by the Management Committee for Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd, and we at The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC will continue with our other programmes.
We will be circulating the account number for the Sacco as soon as we have it. We will then transfer all the moneys we have at KCB and Co-op Bank to either the Sacco Account or to The Clean Kenya Campaign accounts for the Investment Club.
Lastly, all those who want to join us in our Economic Empowerment, Revival and Transformation are free to do so by paying a non-refundable Registration Fee of Kshs 500.00 through our Barclays Bank Account. You can write to me or call me for details.
Remember, this is your chance to drive your own affairs. The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC only lends you a shoulder to lean on.

Congratulating Gor Mahia 2013

Dear Friends,
Our partnership and friendship with Gor Mahia Football Club is now known. In 2012, the Gor Mahia players led by their Captain Jerry Onyango and Vice Chair Dave joined with us in celebrating the World Environment Day at Muthurwa along Landhies Road.
We appreciated this by giving the entire Gor Mahia Football Team Certificates of Appreciation.
L-R; John Bobby Ogolla, Odhiambo T Oketch, TM Ogweno, Gor Coach Logarusic, and Otieno Sungu when we went to present the Gor Mahia Team with Certificates of Appreciation last year at City Stadium
Sometimes in June 2013, I was hosted at Radio Ramogi and the issue of Gor Mahia winning the League cropped up. I made a pledge on Radio that as Friends, we will appreciate the Players in our own small way if they win the KPL League. Things have gone full circle, and now, Gor Mahia FC are the new KPL League Champs 2013. The players have fulfilled their part and won the League. I really doubt if anything will stop them from lifting the League, many fans are saying- Gini wasekawo- meaning, we have taken this thing.
I want hence to join in with the many people who are congratulating Gor Mahia FC for lifting the KPL League Title 2013. As I had promised on Radio, I want to invite Friends who can join with me in raising a minimum of Kshs 50,000.00 for the Players. I know we all have different capacities. I also know that we have some amongst us who will raise Kshs 500,000.00 for the Team. But all that is good. I must appreciate Dr Korir Singoei- a Gor Damu, Hon John Ogutu, Ms Elizabeth Nya gi Gerry from Mombasa, Sam Oketch and a host of Friends who have indicated that they will support.
I also want us to do what we can within our own means. Gor winning the League after 18 years is something worth celebrating. And I am setting the ball rolling with my contribution of Kshs 2,000.00. Dr Korir has supported with Kshs 2,000.00.
Let us join hands and prove once more that we are One Family in this Journey of Hope across Kenya that is The Clean Kenya Campaign.
Congratulations Gor Mahia 2013, and let us invite all our Fans to celebrate with humility.

11th Wave RRI Evaluation at NCC

Dear Friends,
Today, I was involved in an Evaluation Exercise at the Nairobi County Council where we were engaged in Mid-Term Appraisal of the 11th Wave of the Rapid Results Initiative.
With RRI Team Members from the Department of Education at The Naiorbi County Council
Service Delivery has been an issue most Counties are grappling with across Kenya, and I am happy that I was once again invited to be an Evaluator during this important exercise.
At Kimisho, we firmly believe that we must join hands with our Government and County Governments to add value to our lives.
Kenyans are facing serious issues that can be well attended to only if we join hands as One Family under God. We have made that first step in creating that Unity of Purpose and we are doing all within our capabilities to pool our resources together in pursuit of our ideals.
Let us all join hands and work with our Government Agencies in pursuit of our National Ideals as a people.

Our Condolences to all those killed

Dear Friends,
It is with a deep sense of sorrow and patriotism that I want to send our messages of condolences to the families of all those who have died in the Westgate Mall Attack.
At Kimisho, we preach love and peace and we are constantly inviting Kenyans to pool together as we face our twin daily challenges of the cost of living and the cost of finance. We are really saddened that when we were supposed to be observing the International World Peace Day, a bunch of ingrates dared us this so badly.
The sad part of it is that these cowards opened fire on innocent civilians going about their business. It is so cowardly to fire on Women and Children, and yet, this is what these ingrates did. If they had issues with the Kenya Defense Forces, why could they simple not just blast their way into Kahawa Barracks? Why blast your way into a Mall and kill people who are defenseless?
At Kimisho, we want to commend our Security Forces for responding to this threat in good time and effecting the safe evacuation of more that 1,000 shoppers from the Mall. It is sad that a few more people are still holed up as human shield for these ingrates.
We are also joining our political leaders in coming together and talking with one voice on this. We are One Family and NO one will break our resolve and spirit as Kenyans. The President captured this so aptly when he said that we must remain brave as the Lions on our Coat of Arms. He also captured our mood by promising swift and painful retribution.
This is what we need as a Country. We must hit back so swiftly, painfully and so hard. This is what the Israelis do to all those who attempt such acts on their people. The President must instruct our Security Forces to hit back so hard and the perpetrators must be tracked down to their bedrooms.
We must seal all our porous borders and up our security surveillance. The President may also need to Kenyanize the composition of the Top Security Organs in the Country and make it a truly Kenyan affair. We must never domesticate Security Issues for our Country. We are all Kenyans and a joint effort and trust in each other is what we need.
May the good Lord grant all of us His peace. May He rest the souls of all those departed in Peace, and may He grant solace to all those who have been afflicted, injured and hospitalized.
As a People, may we all join hands in our Journey of Hope as Kenyans
