We welcome you to our site. Kindly feel free to share with us your thoughts. Ideas that add value will be appreciated. Ideas that want to make us improve our physical environment will be welcome. And more so, ideas that redirect us from the lost cause will be of immense value.

It is us who will improve the lot of our Environment, our Economy and make Kenya a Clean Country, where People join hands to work for our own Economic Emancipation and where Municipal Solid Waste Management is looked at as a resource, not as waste.

We need to set the standards in this region of the World and become the referral point in how a people can join hands and work for their own Economic Liberation, where waste can be used as raw material and become a source of employment for our people.

Our collective actions will surely make a difference. This is why in partnership with our Key Strategic Partners- The Public Service Transformation Department, the National Environment Management Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation,other key Ministries, the Local Authorities in Kenya, the Provincial Administration, A Better World, Akiba Uhaki Foundation and other Partners, we are moving deliberately in sensitizing and mobilizing Kenyans to work towards A Clean Kenya where waste is separated at source.

And this is why we are inviting Kenyans to join with us in The Clean Kenya Campaign and be a Member of Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd

Welcome.

Presidential Visit to KCDN 2nd April 2009

Mr. Ben Ondoro, President- Kenya Community in Ontario Canada, paid a courtesy call on KCDN yesterday, 1st April 2009. This was in fulfillment of his desire to visit KCDN and see first hand what KCDN does.

In his maiden visit, Mr. President was accompanied by;

1] Ms Betina Sehnke, Founder Director, Huband Cradle of Hope Children’s Home; Canada; [The home is based at Ngong’ Township]

2] Ms Lynda J. Kuhn, Senior Vice President, Maple Leaf Foods, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; [She was visiting a children’s home in Nakuru]

3] Lone Desperson, Maple Leaf Foods; Canada;

And a Lady whose name we inadvertently missed.

On hand to receive our visitors were;

1] Mr. Onyango-Oloo, a Friend of KCDN, a prolific social commentator;

2] Mr. Lawrence Murunga, a Trustee of KCDN;

3] Mr. Onyango Atito, a Trustee of KCDN;

4] Tom from the Chief’s office;

5] Mr. Owino Olendo, Director, Taxplus Consult Ltd, a Friend of KCDN; [Came in late]

6] Ms. Phyllis Wanjiku, the Office Manager, KCDN;

7] Ms. Elizabeth Mwende, Programmes Officer, KCDN;

8] Ms. Ester Anying, Programmes Officer, KCDN; and

9] Odhiambo T Oketch, CEO KCDN.

This was an introductory meeting of minds to explore areas of mutual cooperation in support of the Kenyan Child. We will in the course of Mr. Ondoro’s stay in Kenya come up with a working document that spells a clear path to follow.

In the process, Mr. President Ondoro gave KCDN a personal donation of Kshs 10,000.00. On behalf of KCDN, I must pass our sincere thanks to Mr. President. He requested that this donation be used the best way we can, and we at KCDN have decided to invest the same in our KCDN Child Support Initiative where we will again buy educational support to the children. It is worthy to note that President Ondoro has been supporting a children's home in Mathare in Kasarani for the past 6 years.

This support and visit was of paramount importance to us at KCDN. It shows that we have friends and people of goodwill who are silently following what we are doing.

We will be posting our protocol with Kenya Community in Ontario- Canada in our blog site shortly.

Thank you Mr. President. Thanks to Betina, Lynda, Desperson and Onyango-Oloo. Thanks for your visit to KCDN.

Our blessings and regards.

Odhiambo T Oketch,

CEO KCDN Nairobi.
