Dear Friends,
We will be hosting the last planning meeting for the World Clean-up Day scheduled for the 24th March at Umoja Estate. We will be focusing on cleaning and clearing the drainage system along the entire Moi Drive.
Participants will meet outside the City Council of Nairobi offices next to the Catholic Church in Umoja 1 as from 6.30am. We are requesting all participating Groups to come with a written list of Participants to enable the process of registration to be faster.
We will then divide ourselves into groups as directed by our technical teams led by Mr. Nyagah- the Divisional Environment Officer and his team.
Given the large numbers that we are expecting, the process will be officially flagged of at 7.00am by Prof Karega Mutahi- the Permanent Secretary Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Local Government in the presence of Arch Philip Sika- PS for Nairobi Metropolitan Development, Dr James Nyikal- PS Ministry of Gender, Children and Social development, Mr. Erias Lukwago- the Lord Mayor of Kampala Capital City Authority and our own local Civic and CCN Leaders.
We hope to work for only 1 hour 30 minutes, and this means, we will be converging at Busara Primary School as early as 9.00am for the closing ceremony and speeches from our Guest of Honour and his Team.
We are happy that the following Teams have indicated that they will participate with us;
Let us join hands and make the World Clean-up Event the Mother of all Clean-up Campaigns in Kenya.
Lastly, we at KCDN and The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign are appealing to more willing partners to step forward and give us their support in planing and hosting this massive event. You can reach out to the undersigned with your offer for support.
As usual, we will document all this support and post the same for eternity.
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change we seek'- President Barack Obama of the USA.
A Clean, Green and Litter Less Kenya at 50 is possible and achievable.
