Welcome to KCDN

This is KCDN, an Environmental Management, Economic Empowerment and Poverty Eradication Civil Society.

We welcome you to our site. Kindly feel free to share with us your thoughts. Ideas that add value will be appreciated. Ideas that want to make us improve our physical environment will be welcome. And more so, ideas that redirect us from the lost cause will be of immense value.

It is us who will improve the lot of our Environment, our Economy and make Kenya a Clean Country, where People join hands to work for our own Economic Emancipation and where Municipal Solid Waste Management is looked at as a resource, not as waste.

We need to set the standards in this region of the World and become the referral point in how a people can join hands and work for their own Economic Liberation, where waste can be used as raw material and become a source of employment for our people.

Our collective actions will surely make a difference. This is why in partnership with our Key Strategic Partners- The Public Service Transformation Department, the National Environment Management Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, other key Ministries, the Local Authorities in Kenya, the Provincial Administration, A Better World, Akiba Uhaki Foundation and other Partners, we are moving deliberately in sensitizing and mobilizing Kenyans to work towards A Clean Kenya where waste is separated at source.

And this is why we are inviting Kenyans to join with us in The Clean Kenya Campaign and be a Member of Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd

Welcome.

Friends,
The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign is getting more Friends from across Kenya and the World at large.
It is important to note that in all the places we visit, we work closely with the Municipal Councils and the Provincial Administration as our first line of Friends. We then reach out to the People- the Business People, the Schools, the Religious People, .......
We firmly believe that a Clean Kenya Starts With Me.
This campaign has been exciting and fulfilling. We truly feel honoured by the support you have continued to give us and we know one thing for sure; we are going to dance to ohangla music on the 16th July in Kisumu, and on the 23rd, Isikhuti ita panda huko Kakamega.
Now, who is going to foot the bills for the Ohangla and the Isikhuti? I still have no idea. But they will be there.... Can any emerging leader talk with me? Or do we have some Corporate Sponsor?
We must dance and sing as we clean our neighbourhoods. Ours at KCDN is simply to inspire you, bring you together, and create a forum where we can all work as One Family Under God.
We must reclaim the Earth and make her as Clean as God intended during creation. This starts with one realization from us; we are the problem. So, we must all join in the front line and bring the change we all so need.
I want to invite all of us, and by multiplier effect, many more people, that it is our cardinal responsibility to live in a clean neighbourhood. It is our responsibility to show love to Mother Nature by making her as Clean as God intended. Let us all be responsible in how we dispose of all our waste and the rest shall fall in place.
In doing this, we face many challenges- logistical and financial. But we have always been blessed by your generous support. We know we will continue being partners in this Campaign until it becomes a National Event observed by all across the Country.
If you feel sufficiently philanthropic to be of support to us, please feel free to join our Premium Partners, or, be our Gold, Silver of Bronze Partner. All praise will be to God the Almighty and to the People of Kenya.
This is our campaign and we will make it a huge success. Just wait and see....This is a campaign for Kenya by Kenyans.
If it is to be, it is up to me. A Clean  Kenya  Starts With me. A Peaceful Kenya is my Responsibility.

3rd Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign

Friends,
Today we scored a double victory;
  1. Harambee Stars beat Angola 2;1
  2. Many Kenyans turned out across the country to join in the 3rd Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign.
Now, Harambee Stars made us proud after a series of loses that made many of us not go to the stadium. I was in particularly a very happy man except when Mariga decided to undress in public after giving us a deserved lead. I thought he knows the rules; No undressing in public. But we must forgive him and move on. I would have done the same.

Kenyans also made me proud today. Many across the country turned out and helped make Kenya clean. I was at Eastleigh at St Theresa Girls Secondary School and my, what a turn out.
The Nairobi Clean-up was organized by the One Stop Youth Information Centre, a department of the Social Development Department of the City Council of Nairobi in partnership with the Department of Environment at the City Council of Nairobi.
The response was massive; close to 1,200 Youths from all the Eight Constituencies of Nairobi took part. They were joined by a contigent from Kenyatta University Environment Club members under the auspices of NAVNET. The result was massive; we split into eight teams and we cleaned Eastleigh.
We are also happy with the reports we are receiving from all Kenya; Mombasa, Kagio in Nyeri, Nzoia, Migori, Makueni, Isiolo. You all deed well and we at the National Secretariat are encouraged. Our efforts are not going to waste.

We will all be joining hands next Saturday at Ngong Hills with Imani Children Homes to plant 20,000 trees on the Hills. Please join us at 6.30am at Uhuru Park on 2nd April 2011 to enable us move as a team to Ngong. Express Connections Ltd otherwise known us Double M will be providing us with transport to Ngong.
We are still appealing at all and sundry for support.
In conclusion, I must thank the following Teams for making the Clean-up in Nairobi a big success today;
  1. The City Council of Nairobi led by the Town Clerk Mr. Philip Kisia
  2. One Stop Youth Information Centre led by Mr. Ben Nyamweya
  3. Department of Environment at the City Council led by Mr. Gabriel Omondi on behalf of the Director Mr. Isaac Muraya.
  4. The Decentralization Department of the City Council of Nairobi
  5. The Department of Public Health led by Dr Robert Ayisi
  6. The Department of Social Development and Housing led by Mr. Kariuki
  7. The Divisional Manager Kamukunji Ms Nancy Njeru and her staff members
  8. Eatleigh District Business Association led by Mr. Hussein Mohammed
  9. The Co-operative Bank City Hall Annexe Branch led by Ms Caro Wafula
  10. The Africa Youth Trust
  11. Navnet
  12. Kenyatta University Environment Club members
  13. Yokesho
  14. Juja Road Estate Agency
  15. Liverpool VCT
  16. Aids Control Unit of the Public Health Department
  17. Youths from Langata, Embakasi, Dagoreti, Kasarani, Makadara, Starehe, Westlands, Njiru and Kamukunji Constituencies.
This was encouraging and on behalf of KCDN I say; Thank you all.
A Clean Kenya Starts With Me.
Peace and blessings,
