Welcome to KCDN

This is KCDN, an Environmental Management, Economic Empowerment and Poverty Eradication Civil Society.

We welcome you to our site. Kindly feel free to share with us your thoughts. Ideas that add value will be appreciated. Ideas that want to make us improve our physical environment will be welcome. And more so, ideas that redirect us from the lost cause will be of immense value.

It is us who will improve the lot of our Environment, our Economy and make Kenya a Clean Country, where People join hands to work for our own Economic Emancipation and where Municipal Solid Waste Management is looked at as a resource, not as waste.

We need to set the standards in this region of the World and become the referral point in how a people can join hands and work for their own Economic Liberation, where waste can be used as raw material and become a source of employment for our people.

Our collective actions will surely make a difference. This is why in partnership with our Key Strategic Partners- The Public Service Transformation Department, the National Environment Management Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, other key Ministries, the Local Authorities in Kenya, the Provincial Administration, A Better World, Akiba Uhaki Foundation and other Partners, we are moving deliberately in sensitizing and mobilizing Kenyans to work towards A Clean Kenya where waste is separated at source.

And this is why we are inviting Kenyans to join with us in The Clean Kenya Campaign and be a Member of Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd

Welcome.

KCDN is requesting for your support

Dear Friends,

We have been on the campaign trail on the proposed new constitution for the last 20 years. At least it is coming to an end on the 4th August 2010 when many of us will be voting YES.

We are voting YES because we have been in the struggle and we have lived its ramification.

We saw how children suffered whenever we had conflict, and this made us at KCDN come out more strongly in support of our kids.

On the 7th March 2010, you will remember that the KCDN offices were broken into and all our items taken away- everything from our caps to our chairs to our computers to our files. We made a report to the Police in Kayole, and sadly, nothing has come of it till today.

This was an evil scheme to kill KCDN but we have come out of it much stronger. In between, Akiba Uhaki Foundation stepped in to help us develop our Strategic Plan in April. That is now complete and we will be sharing the document with all Friends of KCDN online. We have annexed the support from Friends of KCDN in the Strategic Plan and we will mail this to all the Friends of KCDN.

In between, we also received a financial boost from a Friend from Switzerland Ms Brigitte Frey. She came to know about us via an article that I had done on Donor Syndrome. She then visited our blog and was impressed. She decided to become a Friend of KCDN. We really thank her and we know through her and all the Friends of KCDN, we will reach out to more people of goodwill who will be able to help.

We want to move to a new office on 1st of August, and we believe that you can be able to support us in whatever way. We need office equipment, tables, chairs, filing cabinet, basically all that makes an office work.

We will need to pay office rent, our staff members, and run our programmes. We can only do this with your support.

This is not an easy task, but we are determined to make a difference for the Children we are supporting come 3rd December 2010 when we will host the 3rd KCDN Child Support Initiative.

Please give us the support that you may, and help us come back to owning an office.

Peace and blessings,
