This is KCDN, an Environmental Management, Economic Empowerment and Poverty Eradication Civil Society.

We welcome you to our site. Kindly feel free to share with us your thoughts. Ideas that add value will be appreciated. Ideas that want to make us improve our physical environment will be welcome. And more so, ideas that redirect us from the lost cause will be of immense value.

It is us who will improve the lot of our Environment, our Economy and make Kenya a Clean Country, where People join hands to work for our own Economic Emancipation and where Municipal Solid Waste Management is looked at as a resource, not as waste.

We need to set the standards in this region of the World and become the referral point in how a people can join hands and work for their own Economic Liberation, where waste can be used as raw material and become a source of employment for our people.

Our collective actions will surely make a difference. This is why in partnership with our Key Strategic Partners- The Public Service Transformation Department, the National Environment Management Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation,other key Ministries, the Local Authorities in Kenya, the Provincial Administration, A Better World, Akiba Uhaki Foundation and other Partners, we are moving deliberately in sensitizing and mobilizing Kenyans to work towards A Clean Kenya where waste is separated at source.

And this is why we are inviting Kenyans to join with us in The Clean Kenya Campaign and be a Member of Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd

The Month of September 2012 and the way forward


Friends,
We are pleased to invite you to our schedules for the Month of September 2012. In between, we will be also having other engagements as our Programme may allow. Like on Friday 7th September 2012, on our way to Kisumu for some Family engagements, we will be meeting with a Team in Nakuru to chart the way forward. They have requested for such a meeting.
On the 1st September 2012 The Kirigiti Market Clean-up Campaign was launched at Kirigiti Market in Kiambu in a function that was attended by Mr. Ben Nguyai- the Environment Officer at the Municipal Council of Kiambu, Mr. Andrew Ranja- a Local Leader, Mr. Martin Muthee Kinyanjui- Chairman Kirigiti Education Centre and several people. We were there to lend our support to this effort as well.

On the same day, The Clean Kenya Campaign Team presented Certificates of Participation to the entire Gor Mahia Football Club Team members at City Stadium. You may remember that Gor Mahia Players joined with us during The World Environment Day on the 5th June 2012 in cleaning Landhis Road around Muthurwa Market.

On the 8th September 2012, Kounkuey Design Initiative and Usalama Youth will be Teaming with other Groups for an Awareness and Clean-up Campaign at Lindi and Laini Saba in Kibera. We are inviting all those who may join with them to help make the Day a success.
On the 11th September 2012, we will be hosting a Planning Session to start Planning for The Review Forum to be hosted at the KICC on the 6th December 2012. On this day, we will appreciate all the Best Practices by giving Awards to;
1.    The Cleanest Town in Kenya
2.    The Cleanest Estates in Kenya, and
3.    The Cleanest Schools, Colleges and Institutions of Higher Learning.
On the 15th September 2012, we will be joining with the residents of Kisumu in a Massive Awareness and Clean-up Campaign in Kisumu. This process will be led by His Worship the Mayor of Kisumu Cllr Sam Okello, the Town Clerk Mr. Chris Rusana, the Director of Environment at the Municipal Council of Kisumu Mr. John Sande, the KICOCEN Team and many other Friends of Kisumu.
On the 18th September 2012, we will be launching The Clean Kenya Campaign Cleanliness Competition for our Towns and Cities, Estates and Schools. The details of this will be discussed on the 11th Sept when we will host our Planning Session.
On the 28th September 2012, in partnership with the Municipal Council of Eldoret, we will host a Consultative and Awareness Forum on Waste Management at the Town Hall in Eldoret.
On the 29th September 2012, we will join with students from Moi University for a Peace Walk at Langas in Eldoret.
Let us all work for a Clean Kenya as a Transformative Deliverable as we turn 50.
