Welcome to KCDN

This is KCDN, an Environmental Management, Economic Empowerment and Poverty Eradication Civil Society.

We welcome you to our site. Kindly feel free to share with us your thoughts. Ideas that add value will be appreciated. Ideas that want to make us improve our physical environment will be welcome. And more so, ideas that redirect us from the lost cause will be of immense value.

It is us who will improve the lot of our Environment, our Economy and make Kenya a Clean Country, where People join hands to work for our own Economic Emancipation and where Municipal Solid Waste Management is looked at as a resource, not as waste.

We need to set the standards in this region of the World and become the referral point in how a people can join hands and work for their own Economic Liberation, where waste can be used as raw material and become a source of employment for our people.

Our collective actions will surely make a difference. This is why in partnership with our Key Strategic Partners- The Public Service Transformation Department, the National Environment Management Authority, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, other key Ministries, the Local Authorities in Kenya, the Provincial Administration, A Better World, Akiba Uhaki Foundation and other Partners, we are moving deliberately in sensitizing and mobilizing Kenyans to work towards A Clean Kenya where waste is separated at source.

And this is why we are inviting Kenyans to join with us in The Clean Kenya Campaign and be a Member of Kimisho Sacco Society Ltd

Welcome.

KCDN Visits Thogoto Kikuyu

Friends,
Look at the attached photos carefully. The first one is of the Police Force in Mbita responding to the Clean-up Campaign organized by Paulosa Cleaning Services and other Partners recently in Mbita Point.
The second one is a day to day happening across Kenya. This is how we waste our dear Country, by throwing polythene, rags, foodstuff, metal and all sorts or waste carelessly. We took this photos today morning during our visit to Thogoto in Kikuyu where we had been invited by the Thogoto Community under the leadership of Jane Njoroge and Grace Kuria for a discussion on how to initiate the Clean-up Campaign there.

We took a walk to the source of River Nairobi and we were shocked.
If you look at the photos, you will see that a lot of waste have been dumped right in the village and by the thickets. The road has been washed off and descending down is some serious business.
My question is, how can one sane person wrap his/her garbage, take a walk with it to the forest and dump it there? Then we turn around to blame someone else once epidemics break out!

Kenyans, this is something we can all do. Let us make a concise decision about how we manage our waste and do the right thing. It will save us lots of agony in the future.
Let us rally all emerging leaders to address the issue of environmental degradation. Let us teach our kids that you do not drop even a pin on the ground. If you have to drop anything down, drop it in a waste bin.
Let us invite all the Companies who have interest on Corporate Social Responsibility to put their money in addressing issues environmental. Once we fix this, all else will fall in place.
Lastly, let us meet at Kileleshwa on Saturday the 30th July and help initiate the Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign there. We can do it, so, let us roll our sleeves and move to the trenches.

General Kombo called me from Russia yesterday and passed his regards to all of us who are moving to the trenches. He is missing the action and he promised to be with us during his vacations in September.
Welcome back to the Trenches General.
As usual, A Clean Kenya Starts With Me. And a Peaceful Kenya is My Responsibility. And those who might want to be of support to us may get in touch with the undersigned.
We are looking forward to creating a partnership that will add value to this campaign with all willing Kenyans.
We at KCDN -www.kcdnkenya.org  firmly believe that we the People of Kenya can help Clean Kenya.

Lastly, we will give Kshs 20,000.00 to 4 most deserving children to supplement their school fee. The DEO Embakasi Ms Jane Njuguna is working on the names.

Mavuno Church, EK Centre join the Clean-up Campaign

God intended the World to remain clean and spotless during creation time, but man upon tasting the forbidden fruit at Eden, has since defecated upon Mother Earth to an extent where cleanliness has ceased to be next to Godliness.
In our continuing efforts at mobilizing and sensitizing Kenyans to join in The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaigns across all Kenya, we had an exciting day yesterday. First, under the auspices of the Young Women Leaders Caucus, the EK Centre in Nairobi hosted a Consultative Meeting of stakeholders who have come together to organize the 9th Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign to be hosted on the 30th July at Kileleshwa.
At EK Centre in Nairobi on the 12th July 2011
We were pleased to have the Ward Manager, the District Peace Committee Chairman from Westlands, the Matatu Drivers and Touts Welfare Association, the Westlands Association, The Youth Representative from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, a representative of the OCS and the area Chief and many more stakeholders in attendance. This team will mobilize Westlands into action and come 30th July, we will be a full house.
Our Guest of Honour for the event will be Dr Evans Kidero.
At EK Centre on the 12th July 2011
Secondly, in the company of Ms Vivian Ogutu, we met with Pst Richard Chogo and Mr Humphrey Imwaga of the Mavuno Church. This was our second meeting and we agreed that Mavuno Church will mobilize for the 10th Edition of The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign to be hosted at Donholm on the 6th August 2011. In partnership with like minded organizations and the Churches and Mosques around Embakasi, they will host a Consultative Meeting with the stakeholders in Donholm on the 26th July to help plan for the event.
Our Guest of Honour for the Donholm Campaign will be Mr. Philip Kisia, the Town Clerk City Council of Nairobi.
Ms GraceNgugi- the Chair Lady- Young Women leaders Caucus at the Consultative Meeting at the EK Centre on the 12th July 2011
We are happy with the response we are receiving for The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign and we want to encourage Kenyans to take charge and drive the process across all Kenya. We are inviting partnerships and support from all of us. A Clean Kenya is indeed my Responsibility and a Clean Kenya Starts With Me.
Lastly, our Kisumu trip is in real jeopardy. As we write this, we have not received funds that can enable us travel to Kisumu at 11.00am as we wanted. We will be in Western Kenya for the next 12 days mobilizing for Kisumu on the 16th and then, going to Kakamega from Monday until Saturday the 23rd when we will be hosting the 8th Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign.
We want to make an urgent appeal to men, women and institutions of goodwill to step forward and help us move this process forward. Updates and Invitations; The Kisumu Campaign

Colleagues,
Kisumu is indeed going to be the best campaign we have had under the on going series of The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign. Why do I say this?
I have talked with the Town Clerk Mr. Nkere, the Mayor Cllr Okello, The Director of Environment Mr. Sande, the Hon MP Olago Aluoch and many Stakeholders based in Kisumu and we are all agreed that we must make Kisumu Great.
Hon Olago will be inviting a few of his Parliamenatary colleagues and we have agreed with him; NO POLITICS. Cllr Okello will also be inviting a few of his Mayarol colleagues with preference to the Mayors of Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret and Kisii, these being the Towns that have hosted us in the past.
The Town Clerk will also invite his colleagues from the 4 Towns as the Director of Environment will. This means, we will have a quorum in Kisumu.
I have talked with Mr Dave Okwatch and his Team, Mr. Zacheus Okoth and his Team, Mr. Paul Kathero and his Team, Cllr Caroline, The Chairman of Environment Department- his name escapes me, Mr. David Ochieng from Kisumu Polytechnic and I have talked and met many corporate heads based in Kisumu. Many more people have called us from Kisumu and sent us emails of encouragement. They all agree on one thing; The 7th Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign at Jubilee Market is going to be simply the best. I bet we do not need less.
Let Kisumu set the standards that all Kenya will envy. And let the Corporates who can give us support come on board.
We are all agreed that Kisumu must be the Turning Point in The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign. And we must make it happen.
We at KCDN -www.kcdnkenya.org http://kcdnkomarockswatch.blogspot.com firmly believe that we the People of Kenya can help Clean Kenya. And to this extent, we want to rely on your support.
Besides what the Council will be offering in terms of working tools and tracks to cart away the garbage, we need your support in the following areas, and time is of real essence;
  1. Water,
  2. Spades
  3. Fork Jembes
  4. Slashers
  5. Gloves
  6. Masks
  7. Wheel barrows
Besides this, we also need to congregate at a venue immediately after the Clean-up Campaign. This means we need the following;
  1. Venue for the meeting
  2. Tents and chairs
  3. PA System
  4. Entertainemnt- Ohangla moro, school choir, women troupe, youth dance etc
Lastly, we need your financial support to enable us at KCDN continue with this campaign. We will be arriving in Kisumu on Wednesday and will be part of the preparations till the D-day. This means a few things;
  1. Transport and
  2. Accommodation
We hence want to appeal for your generous support to help us run this campaign. I will be meeting with Hon Olago Aluoch on Tuesday the 12th July in Nairobi to enable us put everything into perspective. We will also be meeting with the Town Clerk and His Worship the Mayor on the 13th July immediately we arrive in Kisumu.
Then on Thursday, we are all invited for the final preparatory meeting at the Town Hall. This meeting will be convened by the Director of Environment and will be chaired by the Town Clerk. Kindly attend in person, but if you cannot avoid it, please send a nominee.
The meeting will be at exactly 10.00am at the Town Hall at the Municipal Council of Kisumu.
This is a campaign for Kenya by Kenyans. Let us make it big......

Nationwide Coordinator - Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign

Friends,
The Monthly Nationwide Clean-up Campaign is getting more Friends from across Kenya and the World at large.
It is important to note that in all the places we visit, we work closely with the Municipal Councils and the Provincial Administration as our first line of Friends. We then reach out to the People- the Business People, the Schools, the Religious People, .......
We firmly believe that a Clean Kenya Starts With Me.
This campaign has been exciting and fulfilling. We truly feel honoured by the support you have continued to give us and we know one thing for sure; we are going to dance to ohangla music on the 16th July in Kisumu, and on the 23rd, Isikhuti ita panda huko Kakamega.
Now, who is going to foot the bills for the Ohangla and the Isikhuti? I still have no idea. But they will be there.... Can any emerging leader talk with me? Or do we have some Corporate Sponsor?
We must dance and sing as we clean our neighbourhoods. Ours at KCDN is simply to inspire you, bring you together, and create a forum where we can all work as One Family Under God.
We must reclaim the Earth and make her as Clean as God intended during creation. This starts with one realization from us; we are the problem. So, we must all join in the front line and bring the change we all so need.
I want to invite all of us, and by multiplier effect, many more people, that it is our cardinal responsibility to live in a clean neighbourhood. It is our responsibility to show love to Mother Nature by making her as Clean as God intended. Let us all be responsible in how we dispose of all our waste and the rest shall fall in place.
In doing this, we face many challenges- logistical and financial. But we have always been blessed by your generous support. We know we will continue being partners in this Campaign until it becomes a National Event observed by all across the Country.
If you feel sufficiently philanthropic to be of support to us, please feel free to join our Premium Partners, or, be our Gold, Silver of Bronze Partner. All praise will be to God the Almighty and to the People of Kenya.
This is our campaign and we will make it a huge success. Just wait and see....This is a campaign for Kenya by Kenyans.
If it is to be, it is up to me. A Clean  Kenya  Starts With me. A Peaceful Kenya is my Responsibility.
